Dear Students, Faculty and Industry Partners,
Welcome to the UCF School of Modeling, Simulation and Training, where we explore the fascinating world of modeling and simulation — and use those to tools to create worlds of our own.
Modeling and simulation is an interdisciplinary field that combines knowledge from different disciplines to create computer models and simulations of complex systems or objects to better understand, analyze and predict the behavior of their real-world counterparts. In that sense, our school is truly transdisciplinary with faculty from engineering, computer science, urban planning, healthcare, psychology and other backgrounds.
The School of Modeling, Simulation and Training is housed with the UCF College of Engineering and Computer Science. Our academic programs, which include a master’s degree and a doctoral degree in modeling and simulation, are among the most recognized in the nation and around the world. We are proud to be the first school in the nation to offer a graduate degree in modeling and simulation, an achievement that was driven by our vision to become a national and global leader in education and research.
Since our programs are interdisciplinary, we accept students from various educational backgrounds such as engineering, sciences, education, psychology, digital media and others. Students with STEM backgrounds excel here, but those from non-STEM fields also thrive with the right guidance and resources. Our collective goal is to nurture students who are passionate about modeling and simulation and to ensure their success.
Our programs provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary educational experience, drawing on the collective expertise of our engineering and computer science faculty. We bridge disciplines to prepare students for leadership in this dynamic field. Our strong and unique partnership with UCF’s Institute for Simulation and Training empowers our faculty and students to conduct cutting-edge research at its world class facilities.
Located on the UCF main campus, which is close to major engineering organizations such as NASA, Siemens and Lockheed Martin, our school benefits from unparalleled proximity to industry leaders, government agencies and a thriving modeling and simulation ecosystem. This environment allows our students, faculty and industry partners to collaborate on advanced research, tackling challenges in areas such as healthcare, defense, education and beyond.
Our school is not just a hub for research and innovation but also a vibrant community of learners and leaders committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Whether you are joining us as a student, researcher or industry partner, you are becoming part of a mission to shape the future of modeling, simulation and training.
Thank you for being part of this exciting journey. Together, we will continue to lead, innovate, and transform the world through modeling and simulation.
Go Knights! Charge On!
